We are excited to announce that we have been awarded Neighborhood Assistance Program (NAP) Tax Credits to help raise mission-critical funds. Often, businesses and individuals are motivated by their philanthropic spirit to make donations to their favorite charities. We can offer its donors an extra incentive for their generosity.
When a business or an individual with business income makes a charitable donation to Power4STL and requests Neighborhood Assistance Tax Credits, they will receive the benefits of a 50 percent tax credit that can be applied towards their standard state and federal deductions. By receiving Missouri State Tax Credits for their contribution, donors make a larger impact with their charitable gift.
Power4STL is a 501c3 nonprofit organization located in the East Loop of Delmar Blvd in St. Louis, MO. We are committed to reducing the impact of trauma in the St. Louis region. We are home to two programs which work synchronously to provide holistic care to people and their families experiencing the trauma of bullet related injury. This includes a holistic approach for people who have experienced direct or indirect bullet injuries or are at risk for overdose due to trauma-related drug use. This work includes the Bullet Related Injury Clinic which provides a patient-centered medical home for individuals and families who have been injured or threatened by a bullet, and The T, a holistic harm reduction outreach program.
The Bullet Related Injury Clinic (BRIC) is dedicated to supporting patients and families after the experience of Bullet Related Injury (BRI) through trauma informed, culturally congruent and whole person-centered care. The BRIC focuses on bridging care between emergency services and long-term trauma recovery for those suffering from BRI, including loved ones and family who were not directly impacted by the trajectory of the bullet. We BRIC Boxes which contain wound and self-care supplies as an invitation to the clinic. The BRIC engages patients in self-led healing from a holistic perspective, integrating spiritual and mental health care with bandage changes and other medical care. BRIKids is a specialized program within the clinic for children who have direct bullet injuries or children of adults who have been injured. This includes play therapy, child care, and age appropriate wellness resources. The clinic employs staff with lived experience in trauma, BRI and recovery, adding to the accessibility and impact of the care. The BRIC is located within the Delmar Divine, the prior home of Regional Hospital, located at 5501 Delmar Blvd, St. Louis, MO 63112, phone 314-624-0398
The T, which represents "no more trauma", is a holistic harm reduction program. We recognize that drug use is often a response to trauma, and that people carry a collective, historic, and present burden of trauma within the body. Responding to this burden requires a commitment to physical, social, and spiritual wholeness that conventional treatments do not prioritize. The T meets people who use drugs where they are, and we invite them to take a step into their health and wellbeing. We do this through a mobile engagement strategy–the T Wheels. This center focuses on overdose prevention and reversal, wound care, infection management and prevention, and holistic self-directed methods for gaining control of chaotic opioid use. We also provide navigation to both treatment and recovery services. The T collaborates with numerous community partners and is currently engaged in expansion of harm reduction efforts through collaboration with the St. Louis County Health Department. In addition, The T is the home to T Academy, a collective effort to disseminate best practices in holistic harm reduction. The T is located at 5874 Delmar Blvd, St. Louis, MO 63112 phone 314-474-5707.
At Power4STL, where we value the power of the community to be the center of its own wellbeing, we have an approach to care and healing which includes these four values:
In this work, we center trust as the most essential element of all we do, while also assuring we are tending to our own wellbeing so that we can be present and therapeutic in the face of all the trauma we see.
Through the sharing of knowledge and resource, we give our patients and participants the capacity to exercise the power they already have.
To do this we need to have people and organizations like you supporting us to show up in power and generosity each day.
We invite you to be a part of the The Power of Giving through the act of giving your time, talents, and treasure.
